    Arrival by car

    Coming from Germany:
    Munich motorway - Salzburg (A8) to the exit Siegsdorf. From there continue towards Inzell. Stay on the main street and drive through Inzell to Schneizlreuth. In Schneizlreuth turn off towards Lofer. After a few kilometres you pass the border. Continue along this federal road to Lofer. Take the exit Lofer and stay on is small local bypass until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout you have to take the exit towards Saalfelden/Zell am See. Turn left at the first roundabout in Saalfelden (next to McDonalds) towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

    In Hinterthal turn right at the Hotel Urslauerhof towards the village center. After approx. 700 m (opposite the sports shop Sport Mayer) turn right to our Marco Polo Alpina Familien- & Sporthotel.

    Coming from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia (Villach):
    Tauernautobahn (motorway) Villach - Salzburg (A10), junction Bischofshofen, on the federal street of Pinzgau B 311 in the direction to Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden. Turn right at the first roundabout in Saalfelden towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

    Tauernautobahn (motorway) Villach - Salzburg (A10), after Spittal take the next exit to the car shuttle train enterprise Mallnitz - Böckstein and continue on the federal street of Pinzgau B 311 towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden. Turn right at the first roundabout in Saalfelden towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

    Coming from Italy (Brenner mountain pass):
    Motorway Brennerautobahn (A 13) towards Innsbruck, take the exit Innsbruck Ost and continue on the motorway Inntalautobahn (A 12) towards Wörgl, take the exit Wörgl West, and continue on the federal street 312 towards Saalfelden. Drive straight on at the first roundabout in Saalfelden (next to McDonalds) towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

    Coming from Vienna, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary:
    Motorway Westautobahn Wien - Salzburg (A 1), take the exit Wals-Lofer, small border crossing at Walserberg, continue via Bad Reichenhall to the border crossing Steinpaß, Lofer, towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden. Turn left at the first roundabout in Saalfelden (next to McDonalds) towards Maria Alm / Hinterthal.

    In Hinterthal turn right at the Hotel Urslauerhof towards the village center. After approx. 700 m (opposite the sports shop Sport Mayer) turn right to our Marco Polo Alpina Familien- & Sporthotel.

    Arrival by train:

    The nearest train station of the Marco Polo Alpina is the train station in Saalfelden. Many international trains stop here. The Austrian Federal Railway (ÖBB) as well as the German Railways (Deutsch Bahn) can give you more detailed information about trains. From Saalfelden you can take the bus which drives every one or two hours reaching Maria Alm-Hinterthal after a 35 minutes drive.

    Train information

    Arrival by plane:

    The nearest international airport is Salzburg. All large airlines offer flights to and from Salzburg. Shuttle buses travel from Salzburg airport to our region but you can also arrive by taxi. We recommend to book a transfer from the airport to Maria Alm-Hinterthal when booking your flight.

    The association Marco Polo Alpina has been founded in 1970 and has currently 1200 active club members. The club is the sole stakeholder of a limited company, at which all members are also co-owners of the Hotel Alpina. Every club member owns one ore more time shares for a specific apartment for a fixed week of the year. Thanks to international exchange pools every member has the possibility to enter their time share to the exchange pool offering it to other members and in return he also has free access to apartments of the same value all over the world.
