“Schmetterling Erlebnisweg” in Maria Alm-Hinterthal (Butterfly Adventure Route)
A small path leads past the Hotel-Bistro from the Gasthof Obermuβbach up to the Muβbachalm which you will reach after about 45mins. Along the path, discover the diversity of the butterfly: printed lady, admiral, death’s head hawk moth and more.
Along the approx. 3.5km route, you will find lots of information boards, a swivelling butterfly carousel and a quiz at the end, all of which turn this hike up to Muβbachalm into an exciting and educational journey for the whole family.

“Panoramawanderung zum Hundstein“ (Panorama Trail to the Hundstein)
From Hintermoos, go up the mountain with the Schwarzeckalmbahn. From the mountain station, go to the biggest grass-covered mountain in the region which gives a magnificent view over the Hohe Tauern and the Steinernes Meer. After the roughly 2.5hr march, reward yourself with a stop off at the Statzerhaus which stands at 2,117m. Go back to the bottom of the valley with the chair lift.
