Arriving by car:

Coming from Germany:
Munich motorway – Salzburg (A8) up to the Siegsdorf exit.  From there, continue towards Inzell.  Stay on this main road where you will travel through Inzell to Scheizlreuth.  In Scheizlreuth, turn off towards Lofer.  You will pass the boarder after a few kilometres.  Drive on along this road up to Lofer.  Take the Lofer exit here and remain on this small local bypass until the roundabout.  At the roundabout, take the exit going towards Saalfelden/Zell am See.  Turn left in Saalfelden at the first roundabout (next to Mc Donalds) towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

Coming into Hinterthal, turn off towards the town centre by the Hotel Urslauerhof.  After approx. 700m (opposite Sport Mayer), turn right to the Marco Polo Alpina Familien- und Sporthotel

Coming from Italy, Slovinia, Crotia (Villach):
Tauernautobahn (motorway) Villach – Salzburg (A10), Knoten Bischofshofen, on the Pinzgau main road B311 towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden.  Turn right at the first roundabout in Saalfelden towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

Tauernautobahn (motorway) Villach – Salzburg (A10), after Spittal take the next exit to the Mallnitz-Böckstein motor-rail and continue on the Pitzgau main road B311 towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden.  Turn right at the first roundabout in Saalfelden towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

Coming from Italy (Brenner):
Brennerautobahn (motorway) (A13) towards Innsbruck, exit at Innsbruck East and continue on the Inntalautobahn (A12) towards Wörgl, exit at Wörgl west, continue on the main 312 road to Saalfelden.  Carry straight on at the first roundabout (next to Mc Donalds) towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

Coming from Vienna, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungry:
Westautobahn Wien (Vienna west motorway) – Salzburg (A1), exit at Wals-Lofler, small border crossing at Walserberg, continue via Bad Reichenhall to the Steinpaβ border crossing, Lofer, towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden.  Turn left at the first roundabout in Saalfelden (next to McDonalds) towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

Westautobahn Wien (Vienna west motorway) – Salzburg (A1) interchange, onto the Tauernautobahn (motorway) (A10) towards Villach, Bischofshofen interchange, on the Pinzgau main road B311 towards Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden.  Turn right at the first roundabout in Saalfelden towards Maria Alm/Hinterthal.

Coming into Hinterthal, turn off towards the town centre by the Hotel Urslauerhof.  After approx. 700m (opposite Sport Mayr), turn right to the Family & Sport Hotel Marco Polo Alpina.

Arriving by train:

The nearest train station to the Marco Polo Alpina is Saalfelden station.  Many international trains stop there.  ÖBB or Deutsche Bahn can give you more detailed information about the trains.  From Saalfelden, you can reach Maria Alm-Hinterthal in approx 35mins with the Postbus, which travels every one or two hours.

Arriving by plane:

The nearest international airport is Salzburg.  All large airlines have flights to and from Salzburg in their timetables.  Shuttle busses travel from Salzburg to our region but you can also travel by taxi.  It is advisable to book a transfer to Maria Alm/Hinterthal at the same time as you book your plane journey.
